Plug in and check device connection
- Connect the Magellan 1500i to your PC via USB.
- Open Windows Device Manager and look under Ports (COM & LPT).
If the scanner appears, the setup is complete. Test if it works by scanning a barcode.
If the scanner does not appear
- If using a COM-to-USB adapter, check if its driver is installed.
- Set the scanner into USB-COM mode (see next step).
Important: When scanning setup barcodes, cover any other visible barcodes to avoid misconfiguration.

Disable Handheld Mode
The Handheld Mode requires pressing a button to scan. If you want the scanner to scan automatically when a barcode is presented, follow these steps:

Enable Good Read Beep
If the scanner does not beep when scanning a barcode, follow these steps to enable the Good Read Beep.

Final Check
The Magellan 1500i scanner is now fully configured. Test scanning a barcode to verify functionality. If issues persist, repeat the setup steps and ensure the correct barcodes were scanned.
