Fast Lane
- Top up consumption credit as usual (e.g. via POS or self-service)
- The system automatically creates a new claim with its own type
- Payment via reversible method (e.g. SEPA direct debit, credit card)
- Credit is immediately available
- In case of payment failure → claim can be dunned or sent to collection
- Manual adjustments to the credit are possible at any time
What’s new?
With this update, every consumption credit top-up made via a reversible payment method is automatically booked in the member account with a dedicated claim type. This separates the top-up process from the actual credit and allows for better management – both during day-to-day operations and in the event of chargebacks or cancellations.
How the claim for consumption credit works
When a member tops up consumption credit – for example via the POS or self-service (app/web) – the following happens in the background:
- The consumption credit is immediately topped up and available for use by the member.
- At the same time, a claim in the amount of the top-up is automatically created in the member account – with a special type for consumption credit.
- The claim can be settled via a reversible payment method like SEPA direct debit or credit card.
Behavior in case of chargebacks and reversals
If a payment is reversed by the payment provider, the consumption credit is not automatically reduced. Instead:
- The credit remains on the member’s account
- The claim is reopened
- It can be dunned or sent to collections
Note: If the credit itself is to be canceled or reduced, this must be done manually.
Possible actions at the claim level
You have full control over the open claim. Depending on your needs, it can be:
- reduced or partially canceled
- fully canceled or written off
- locked or released
- settled with a credit
- assigned a new due date
The actual handling of the consumption credit – such as cancellation or reduction – is done separately through the credit management modal.
