In this article you will learn how to create a training plan for a member, build training units with exercises and supersets, publish the plan and edit it later.
Good to know: In addition to the plans you create and assign here, members can create their own training plans directly in the app. This option is available in selected studio apps. Self-created plans are separate from the plans you assign to a member and don't change them.

Quick Guide

- Build the training units in the training plan builder.

Prerequisites
Your role needs the permission Manage training plans (category Member management, subcategory Training).
Create a training plan in the member profile
Open Members and select the member you want to create a training plan for. In the member profile, open Training / Training plans. You now see the list of this member's training plans.
At the top right you have two options:
- Create training plan starts an empty plan.
- Select template starts the plan from a training plan template. This is described in the article on training plan templates.
Enter the training plan details
After clicking Create training plan, a window opens in which you enter the plan details:
- Title and Description: The description is shown to the member on the training plan detail page in the app.
- Picture: An individual image for the plan, shown in the app. If you don't upload one, the default training plan image from the training configuration is used.
- Training goal and Trainer.
- Duration: Valid indefinitely means the plan can be trained without a time limit. With Fixed duration you enter the number of weeks the plan is valid for (for example 8 weeks).
Confirm your entries with Save. The training plan builder opens.
Create and manage training units
In the training plan builder, the first training unit is already open and is named Unit A. Click into the name field to rename it. Click the plus button next to the units to add another unit.
Below the unit name you see the number of exercises and the weekdays Mon to Sun. Click one or more weekdays to recommend on which days the member should train this unit. Before you can publish the plan, every unit needs at least one exercise and at least one weekday, and the target values of the sets must be filled in, for example the repetitions. Missing entries are marked with a red frame. Details are described in the article on assigning training units to days of the week.
The three-dot menu of a unit offers these actions:
- Delete unit
- Duplicate unit: useful if the same or a similar unit is trained several times a week.
- Add superset to training unit: adds a superset block, in which several exercises are performed back to back. See the article on supersets.
Add exercises and set load parameters
On the right under Exercises you see all exercises available to you. Use the search field to find an exercise by name, or click the filter icon next to it to show only exercises for a specific muscle group or exercise type.
Click an exercise to open its detail window with the exercise video, the trained muscles, the exercise type, the training level, the exercise groups and the description (preparation, execution and tips).
Click Add to unit to add the exercise to the open unit. You can also drag an exercise from the list directly onto a unit. The unit doesn't have to be open: dropping the exercise on the unit's name is enough.
For every exercise you define the load:
- Change the parameters (for example repetitions, weight, pause) using the drop-down below the exercise name.
- Enter the target values per set, for example repetitions and kilograms for strength exercises or the duration for cardio exercises. Add or remove sets with the plus and minus icons.
- The rest time is prefilled with the default rest time from the training configuration and can be changed per set.
- Click Add comment below the exercise name to add a note for the member. It is shown on the exercise detail page in the app.
The three-dot menu next to an exercise lets you remove it with Remove exercise. For machine exercises (for example cardio machines, strength machines, plate loaded, plyobox or rack) it also offers Edit Machine settings, where you store settings such as seat height or lever and pad positions.
Change the order of units and exercises
To change the order of the training units, drag and drop them. The exercises stay in their unit.
To change the order of the exercises, click and hold an exercise and drag it to the new position. You can also move exercises to another unit.
Publish or save the training plan as a draft
The bar above the builder shows the following buttons:
- Publish: saves the plan and assigns it to the member. The member sees it in the app, provided they are connected to your studio.
- Save draft: saves the current state so that you can continue later. The plan appears with the status Draft in the member's list of training plans.
- Delete: discards the new plan.
After publishing, the overview page of the plan opens. It summarizes the plan details, all training units and the exercises including their load parameters.
Reuse a plan as a template or catalog plan
In the training plan builder of a member's plan, the three-dot menu in the plan details bar offers two more actions:
- Save as training plan template draft
- Save as catalog plan draft
A window opens in which you check the training goal, training level, trainer and duration. The plan is then saved as a draft under Training world / Training plans / Training plan templates or Training world / Training plans / Training plan catalog, where you complete and publish it.
Edit, archive or export a training plan
Open the plan from the member's list of training plans. The three-dot menu at the top right of the overview page offers:
- Edit training details: title, description, picture, training goal, trainer and duration.
- Edit training plan: units, exercises and load parameters in the builder. Confirm changes with Publish. If an unpublished change exists, this entry reads Continue editing.
- Archive training plan for an active plan, or Restart training plan for an archived one.
- Export as PDF: creates a PDF of the plan.
For a draft, the menu offers Delete draft.
