Use cases
As a gym operator, you spend a lot of time sending reminders, waiting for bank transfers, and manually updating payment methods. This is not only time-consuming but also has a direct impact on your cash flow.
The Fast-Finance Link provides a streamlined way for members to settle outstanding balances and, if needed, update their payment method themselves.
With this tool, members can quickly pay open debts using common payment methods such as credit card or PayPal. If required, they can also add a new payment method, for example a SEPA mandate. The Fast-Finance Link can be embedded in your communication templates via placeholders, and an automatic notification rule ensures that members are informed when their payment method needs to be updated.
For users of Finion Pay, it is also possible to create payment links directly from the member account for individual claims or outstanding invoices. This further simplifies the payment process and helps to improve cash flow.
Prerequisites
- The Member Platform must be active.
- For payment-related functions, Finion Pay must be active.
- Permissions setting: Settings / Resources / Roles / Create, regenerate and deactivate the Fast-Finance Link in the member account
Configuration Path
Navigate to: Member Platform / Self-Service / <configuration name> / Fast-Finance Link
Section: Fast-Finance Link
In this section, you decide whether the Fast-Finance Link is active and which use cases it supports. The following options are available:
- Payment of Open Debts → Payment Method Update: Members first settle all open debts when opening the link. Afterwards, they are prompted to update their payment method. (recommended)
- Payment of Open Debts Only: The link only allows members to pay open debts.
- Payment Method Update → Payment of Open Debts: Members first provide a new payment method and then pay any outstanding debts.
- Payment Method Update Only: The link is used exclusively to update the payment method in the member account.
- Deactivated: When members open the link, no functionality is offered.
Payment Method Update Settings
Selection of available payment methods:
You can choose which payment methods are available to members during the payment method update flow. Typical options include cash, bank transfer, direct debit, and credit card. For direct debit and credit card, members must enter their payment details.
Reset entrance restrictions:
If a member successfully completes the flow and entrance restrictions exist, these can be automatically removed. This allows charges to be collected in the next payment cycle and may enable the member to continue training.
Dunning level condition:
Entrance restrictions are only removed if the member’s dunning level meets the conditions you have configured.
Section: Communication
In this section, you configure how the Fast-Finance Link is used in your communication flows.
Template for manual send-out in member account:
You can send an email template containing the Fast-Finance Link directly from the member account. When creating an email template, you can use the predefined template Invalid payment method (with Fast-Finance Link).
Notification rule:
You can activate the notification rule Contract Payment Instrument Was Invalidated. This rule is triggered by events such as chargebacks and prompts members to add a new payment method and settle open debts.
To activate this rule, go to: Communication → Notification rules, enable the Active setting and add the rule for the event via Add notification rule.
Placeholders in templates:
The placeholders #FastFinanceLink and #FastFinanceQrCode can be used in your templates without additional configuration.
To avoid displaying a long URL, you can insert the placeholder as a hyperlink behind a text label.
Member Account Features
In the payment method section of the member account, you can open the context menu on the payment method tile and select the Fast-Finance Link. Depending on your configuration and permissions, you can:
- View the current Fast-Finance configuration.
- Send an email template containing the link.
- Copy the link or QR code.
- Deactivate or regenerate the link for an individual member.
- Navigate directly to the Fast-Finance settings.
New account function: Create payment link
This function allows you to create a link specifically for paying open debts. You can either include all open claims or select specific items.
The function is only visible if all of the following conditions are met:
- Payment is allowed in the Fast-Finance Link settings.
- Finion Pay is active.
- The user has the necessary permission for the Fast-Finance Link.
Invoices
Invoice context menu option: Create payment link
In the invoices section, you can use the context menu to create a payment link for a specific invoice. Members can then pay the invoice directly via this link.
The visibility of this option follows the same conditions as the account function (payment allowed in settings, Finion Pay active, and the correct permission assigned).
Configuring Service Fees for Self-Service Payments
You can optionally configure a service fee for self-service payments that are made via the Fast-Finance Link.
- Navigate to Member Platform / Self-Service and select the desired configuration.
- In the widget Additional Data, open the Member Account section.
- Even if this section is deactivated, the fee setting is located here.
- By default, the service fee may be set to 0 %. To adjust it:
- Open the three-dot menu for the Member Account section.
- Select Edit Member Account.
- Change the status to Detailed view or Summarized view.
- Set the desired percentage for the service fee.
- Switch the status back to Deactivated if you do not want to display the section.
- Save your changes.
