Sending serial messages

In this article, you will learn how to send serial messages via the software to reach multiple members at the same time.

This view of serial messages will be available from 4 November 2026.

Quick Guide

  1. Open Communication / Messages / Serial messages.
  2. In the top right corner, click Create serial email. For another type, open the menu with the arrow next to the button and choose Create serial text message, Create serial letter or Create serial App message.
  3. Assign a name, select a recipient list and choose a message template.
  4. Send the serial message.

How to find your serial messages

Under the main menu item Communication, you will find the submenu Messages / Serial messages. There, a table gives you an overview of all created serial messages.

The overview in detail

The table contains the following columns:

Column Content
Name Name of the serial message. The name of the filter used is shown below it.
Status Current status of the serial message, for example Draft, Scheduled, Sending or Sent.
Type Kind of serial message, for example Email, Text message or Letter.
Price Cost of the serial message. The column stays empty for App messages.
Recipient Number of recipients.
Generation error Number of errors that occurred while the messages were generated.
Sent date Date and time of dispatch.

Use the filters to narrow down the list:

  • In the Status column and in the Type column, select one or more values.
  • In the Sent date column, filter by a specific date, from a date onwards, or up to a date.

With the column selection, you hide columns you do not need or show them again. Clicking a row opens the details of the serial message. If no serial message has been sent yet, the overview shows the message No serial messages.

Row actions

Use the menu at the end of a row to run these actions:

  • Download serial letter: Available for serial letters only. While a serial letter has the status Draft, Waiting for generation or Generating, the action cannot be selected.
  • Delete message: Deletes the serial message. The action is available only if you have the corresponding permission.

While a serial message is being created, deleted or sent, the row shows no menu.

Create and send a serial message

  1. Navigate to Communication / Messages / Serial messages.
  2. In the top right corner, click Create serial email, or open the menu with the arrow next to the button and choose the type of serial message:
    • Create serial email
    • Create serial text message
    • Create serial letter
    • Create serial App message
  3. Assign a name to the serial message, select a recipient list, and choose a suitable message template.
  4. Once created, you can send the serial message immediately.

You only see the buttons for text message, letter and App message if the corresponding module is active in your system.
